Your entry options

Option 1 · Easiest

Visa-free entry — 30 days

As of 2026, citizens of 77+ countries may enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days. This covers the majority of medical programmes: health check-ups, consultations, dental work and most day surgeries.

  • ·No application, no embassy appointment, no fee
  • ·Indonesia — 30-day visa-free entry for ordinary passport holders
  • ·Russia — visa-free group travel arrangement; individual policies apply by category
  • ·Passport must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival
  • ·Bring a return or onward ticket and your accommodation address
From Indonesia or Russia? Your country is covered — tell us your passport and travel dates and we confirm your exact entry route within one working day.
Option 2 · Transit

240-hour transit visa-free — 10 days

Citizens of 54 countries may stay visa-free for 240 hours (10 days) when transiting China en route to a third country. Useful for short consultations or a second opinion combined with onward travel.

  • ·Requires a confirmed onward ticket to a third country
  • ·Entry and exit must be through designated ports (Chengdu is included)
  • ·Regional movement limits apply — confirm with us before booking
  • ·Best for follow-up visits and imaging review, not for surgery
Option 3 · Long stay

Medical visa (S2 / M) — 30 to 180 days

For complex conditions needing an extended stay — major surgery, oncology programmes, CAR-T therapy or staged rehabilitation. Requires an invitation letter issued by Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital.

We obtain your hospital invitation letter within 2–3 business days of case confirmation.

  • ·Valid passport (6+ months) and completed application form
  • ·Photo to specification: 48mm × 33mm, white background
  • ·Hospital invitation letter issued by Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital
  • ·Proof of funds covering the estimated treatment cost
  • ·Standard processing 4–5 business days; express 1–3 days

Common reasons visas are refused

Nearly every refusal we see is a paperwork issue, not a medical one. We pre-check your file against this list before you submit.

  • Application form incomplete or inconsistent with passport details
  • Photo does not meet specification (48mm × 33mm, white background, recent)
  • Passport validity under 6 months, or no blank visa pages
  • Invitation letter missing, expired, or containing incorrect information
  • Insufficient proof of funds — we recommend covering 120% of the estimated cost
